Back in 2013, members of Islington Boxing Club visited South Africa in a once in a lifetime experience.

During the 10 day trip which ended with 11 of our boxers competing on a club show to help raise funds for a local boxing club to build a new gym. We visited various places such as Robin Island, a Safari, Townships and most of us walked up Table Mountain.

Back in 2016, the club made the first of two visits to Sri Lanka.

Here is a photo and video slideshow from the first trip which two coaches from the club helped coached local kids and passed on a few tips and knowledge to their local boxing coaches. The long term goal was for for the Sri Lankan boxing federation to get a boxing program up and running in a college. IBC is being used as a prime example of a top quality boxing club from overseas.

IBC continue their links with the Sri Lankan’s and donated old equipment to them on a yearly basis.
